According to Shanxi Civil Aviation Airport Group Company Limited, China Southern Airlines has increased the flight frequency on the Taiyuan-Dalian route and Deer Air has opened the Harbin-Taiyuan-Urumqi route from July.

From July 1, 2008, China Southern increased the number of flights on the Taiyuan-Dalian route from original four a week to once a day. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, the flight starts from Dalian at 15:35, arriving at Taiyuan at 16:55; the return flight departs from Taiyuan at 17:45 and arrives at Dalian at 19:05. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, the flight starts from Dalian at 19:00, arriving at Taiyuan at 20:30; the return flight departs from Taiyuan at 21:30, and arrives at Dalian at 23:10. From July 4, there will be additional two flights every Monday and Friday. The flight starts from Dalian at 15:50, arriving at Taiyuan at 17:20; the return flight departs from Taiyuan at 23:10, and arrives at Dalian at 00:40 following day.

Meanwhile, Deer Air opened the Harbin-Taiyuan-Urumqi route from July 1. Every Monday and Friday, the flight starts from Harbin at 08:30, arriving at Taiyuan at 10:50, then departs from Taiyuan at 11:30, and arrives at Urumqi at 15:20; the return flight starts from Urumqi at 16:00, stopping at Taiyuan at 19:10, then departs from Taiyuan at 19:50 and arrives at Harbin at 22:00.
