Visitor Numbers In Hong Kong Exhibition Industry Continue To Grow

According to the results of survey conducted by the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association, in 2007, the number of visitor arrivals to Hong Kong in its exhibition sector continued to grow.

The data indicates that in 2007, the number of large exhibitions held in Hong Kong which were open to both the exhibition industry and the public increased by 71%; total number of overseas visitors rose by 18%. Of these, the growth rate of visitors from Asia Pacific regions exceeded 4%; that for the other areas including Europe, America, Africa, and Middle East regions was more than 9%; that from mainland China increased by 47% compared to the same period of previous year.

Last year, the number of Chinese mainland enterprises which went to Hong Kong to participate in exhibitions increased by over 12%, and the revenue from their booth rent was upped by about 24%.
