Hainan To Set Up Tourism Development Fund

Lu Zhiyuan, director of the Hainan Provincial Tourism Bureau, said that Hainan will set up a tourism development fund to meet the requirements of building an international tourism island, and take a number of measures to improve the travel quality for citizens.

Hainan will apply for the visa waiver approval from the national government for more countries sending tour groups to Hainan; and to widen the policy of opening aviation rights for the convenience of international and domestic tourists into and out of Hainan; and to implement the tax free shopping policy and set up the operation system to provide facilities for the tourists visiting Hainan island; and to offer exchange services for small amounts of foreign currencies.

Lu said that Hainan plans to fulfill the goal of building Hainan into an international tourism island over next five years.
