Park Hotel Group has extended its portfolio of properties in Asia with the acquisition of the Grand Castle Hotel — a five-star hotel located in Xi'an, Shaanxi.

The 10 story 338-room property, which will be re-branded as the Grand Park Xi'an, is located in the heart of the city's business, shopping and entertainment districts. A feature of the hotel is its atrium lobby, which is said to be the highest in the city. Facilities in the newly renovated property include the Yue Chinese Restaurant, the Veranda Cafe Restaurant, a lobby lounge, a ballroom, six meeting rooms, and a business center.

This is the group's third hotel in China after Grand Park Kunming in Yunnan and Grand Park Wuxi in Jiangsu; and Park Hotel Group director Allen Law has said that they have plans to acquire more hotels in key cities in China over the next three to five years.

Besides its China properties Park Hotel Group also owns and manages the Park Hotel Hong Kong and three properties in Singapore, including the newly built Park Hotel Clarke Quay due to open in March 2009.
