Accor has appointed Raetus Balzer as the general manager of Pullman Beijing South — the first Pullman hotel in the nation's capital.

He has extensive working experience Asia, including posts in Shanghai, Seoul, Hanoi, Sydney, and Pattaya. Prior to his recent appointment, Balzer was the general manager of the Novotel Mangga Dua Jakarta in Indonesia. Before joining Accor, he worked for Renaissance and Royal Viking Cruise Lines, in Fort Lauderdale and San Francisco, USA.

Balzer is fluent in English, French, German, and Spanish. He is a graduate of the Hotel Management School, Lausanne, Switzerland and holds hotel administrator diplomas from the Swiss Hotel Association and from the American Hotel and Motel Association.
