Rail Europe has announced that from January 1 2009, it will formally launch an online booking system for the mainland Chinese market.

This will enable Chinese citizens to buy Swiss Pass in China. Gu Jian from the Chinese official sales agency for Rail Europe said that travelers can log on for train ticket information, real-time reservations, and make online payments in Renminbi.

The 2009 prices for a four-day Swiss Pass range from EUR121 to EUR241 depending on the options chosen by the traveler.
