InterContinental Hotels Group has become the first international hotel group to enter the Beijing suburbs with the re-branded Holiday Inn Beijing Moon River.

Holiday Inn Beijing Moon River — formerly the Moon River Resort Hotel — is owned by Dongrun Investment Group and managed by IHG. It is located in Tongzhou district, about 25 kilometers east of Beijing's central business area. Located at the origin of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and encircled by an ecological zone nearly 700,000 square meter in area, the hotel provides comfortable accommodation, local cuisines, meeting facilities and a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, bowling, a golf driving range, and horse riding.

The hotel has 139 guest rooms and suites with garden views, all featuring wireless and broadband Internet access; IDD and DDD telephone; international satellite TV channels; mini bar; and an in-room safe.

For food and beverage Tan’s Restaurant offers authentic Chinese imperial cuisine using menus that were created by the court official Tan Zongjun and his son in the late Qing Dynasty. Long Yuan Chinese Restaurant features the new-style Shangdong cuisine while the Lakeview Café offers views over the gardens and lake, serving international cuisine in a relaxed setting. The Sakura Japanese Restaurant features traditional Japanese home-style cooking.

For MICE events there is a selection of function rooms including a 450 square meter pillar-less Grand Ballroom and eight multi-function rooms ranging from 25 to 210 square-meters in area. All function rooms are equipped with AV systems and wireless and broadband Internet access, and are supported by a dedicated events and functions team.
