Air China Limited will launch a direct flight from Beijing to Lhasa from July 10, and this will be the first flight to directly link the country's capital and Lhasa.
The flight will depart from Beijing every day at 07:00 and arrive at Lhasa Gongga Airport at 10:50. This will save passengers two hours compared with current flights which are routed through Chengdu.
This direct flight will bring greater convenience to tourists who want to visit Tibet. It is also expected to boost this region's tourism.
