The 7 Days Inn Group recently introduced a self check-in system for its guests.

With the system, guests of 7 Days Inn can book a room and pay in advance through 7 Days Inn's online website or by telephone, and then they can choose a room after swiping their second-generation ID cards through the check-in terminal in the hotel lobby. No deposit is needed for this new system.

According to Lin Yuezhou, the chief information officer of the group, the information entered into the self check-in system is the same as with the central system of 7 Days Inn. Lin, who is in charge of technology research and development and value-added services for guests at 7 Days Inn, adds that the new system will both save time for guests, and lower the hotels' management costs.

In 2008, 7 Days Inn introduced 24-hour booking via the Internet, by telephone, or through SMS messages and WAP, as well as easy checkout services.
