Beijing Looking At Eco-Leisure Tourism Zone

The Beijing Tourism Administration has recently published a document called "Assessment Criteria for a Beijing Eco-leisure Tourism Zone".

According to the document, eco-leisure tourism zone refers to a special tourism agglomeration area of not less than 100 square kilometers with a good eco-environment and sustainable ecosystem diversity, biodiversity and landscape diversity.

The criteria sets out detailed requirements for the protection of resources and the environment. For example, buffer zones and quarantine areas are required to protect animals and plants.
