JAL Reduces Flight Frequency On Two International Routes

Japanese media reports that Japan Airlines has announced that it will temporarily reduce the flight frequency on two of its international air routes to Shanghai and to San Paulo.
Frequency on the Narita to Shanghai route will decrease from the current 28 roundtrip flights a week to 21 a week, starting from January 18, 2010. This revised schedule will last till March 27, 2010. JAL officials say that the schedule from March 27 has still to be decided.
This initiative is meant to improve profitability by adjusting capacity. Earlier, in November 2009, JAL ceased operations on 16 international and domestic air routes including four China routes.
