Richard Branson, head of Virgin Atlantic Airways, is rumored to be in talks to start a new low-fare Chinese airline. This comes on the heels of his successful airline ventures in Nigeria and the United States.

I am looking at India and China and we are very close to securing a partnership in one of those countries to launch a new domestic airline, a British newspaper quoted Branson as saying. We hope to have operations in both countries soon.

Virgin Atlantic was not immediately available for comment.
