By September 22, virtually all rail tickets for travel before September 30 had sold out in Shanghai, and issuing authorities are having trouble dealing with demand.

The Beijing East Road tickets centre, for example, had to open half an hour earlier than usual, and added 3 ticket windows, but there were still long queue for most of the day. Authorities are recommending that arrive as early as possible in the morning if they want to get tickets.
