China's tourism earnings are expected to reach RMB600 billion (US$72.5 billion) this year. According to latest statistics from the National Tourism Administration the number of domestic tourists in China this year is expected to reach more than 900 million.

The number of tourists from abroad is likely to reach 105 million by the end of this year.

China is the world's largest domestic tourism market, with earnings from domestic tourism comprising 70 per cent of total earnings.
