China Eastern Airlines has signed an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 5 Airbus A319 planes.

China Eastern Airlines will spend about US$200 million on these planes, which Airbus will start to deliver in February 2006.

This is the third time that China Eastern Airlines has purchased planes in the past three months. The first time was on December 23, 2004, when they bought 6 Boeing 737-700 for RMB2 billion, and the second time was on January 28, 2005, when they bought 15 Boeing 787.
