Singapore heartthrob singer A-Do made an appearance in Beijing this week. He is on a whirlwind China tour that will bring him closer to his mainland fans and let new fans experience all of A-Do's music. Upon his arrival at the Presidential Plaza Beijing, A-Do was warmly welcomed by the hotel General Manager, Gerhard Facshing (right) and the Resident Manager Ilja Poepper (left).

Born Do Cheng Yi, A-Do's humble beginnings is very much like a rags to riches drama. He came from a single-parent family, left school at a tender age of 15, and has worked as a waiter, construction worker and car repairer to survive. His talent was discovered by fellow workers who coaxed him to audition for a record label and there has been no turning back for this young man since then.

The singer from Lion City has won legions of fans with his husky and sultry voice which many say, resembles American singer Richard Marx. Despite his success, he insists that he is very much an introvert.

Whenever friends wanted him to participate in singing contests, he would always pull out last minute due to jitters. Unbelievably, he was a karaoke competition washout. It wasn't until his current record label Ocean Butterflies persuaded him to take part in a tryout that the singer released his debut album Tian Hei (Getting Dark). The album, and its singer became a success. This was followed by second album 'Jian Chi Dao Di'. (Persevere Till The End)
