CAAC (General Administration of Civil Aviation of China) has announced that two more private civil aviation companies, Eastern Express Airlines and East Star Airlines, have been approved to operate on the mainland.

Eastern Express Airline is jointly invested by Junyao Group and the Three Gorges Aviation and Travel Investment with RMB80 million and RMB70 million, respectively. It will be based at both the Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport.

East Star Airlines will be invested in by Hubei East Star International Travel Co., Ltd, Hubei Meijing Travel Investment Co., Ltd and Hubei Dongsheng Real Estate Co., Ltd with total amount of RMB80 million, and it will be based at Wuhan Airport.

With the start of these two airlines, the total number of private aviation companies in China will reach five.
