Matthias Kann has been appointed Managing Director of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, as of May 1, 2005. Kann, a German national, joins the Kempinski Hotel Beijing from India, where he first spent three years at the helm of the awarding-winning Leela Palace Kempinski in Goa, before moving to the Leela Kempinski Mumbai in 2003.

Starting his hotel career in his native Hamburg in 1966, Mr Kann worked in various exclusive properties in Europe, Asia and the Far East, where he has acquired extensive international experience and knowledge in the luxury hospitality industry.  Under the Kann's leadership, the Kempinski Hotel Beijing will continue to deliver the dedicated superior levels of service for which the hotel is widely known.
