Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific has announced the appointment of Maurice Cook as General Manager of the Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World, which opened on June 17.

Cook has worked with Radisson for over 15 years and prior to joining the Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World, held the position of General Manager at several key Radisson hotels across the Asia Pacific region, including the Tianhong Plaza Hotel in Beijing (managed by Radisson Hotels and Resorts), the Radisson Plaza Hotel at the Pier, Cairns and Radisson Treetops Resort Port Douglas in Australia, the Radisson Hotel Jakarta and the Radisson Port Vila Resort and Casino in Vanuatu.

In his new position at the Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World, Cook has been responsible for the successful opening of the hotel and overseeing all aspects of the hotel operation. He will use his extensive experience–gained from more than 31 years in the hospitality industry–to maximise hotel revenue and ensure that the Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World offers the best in hospitality and service consistent with the quality and reputation of Radisson Hotels and Resorts.
