Alain Briere has been appointed Area Director of Sales and Marketing of Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. In this new position, Briere will oversee the Sales and Marketing Division, comprised of the Sales, Events Management, MICE and Communications sectors of the company.

He will report directly to Vice President and General Manager of the hotel, Philippe Caretti.

Before joining Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, Briere, a French national, held senior management positions with luxury hotel groups throughout Europe, including Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotels.

A 30-year sales and marketing veteran within the hospitality industry, Briere will also oversee the Shangri-La Hotels in Hangzhou and Shenzhen.
