The China National Travel Administration announced the opening of seven new countries and regions to Chinese citizens next month. Of the seven, five of the areas are in South America.

Starting from September 15, Chinese travelers can visit these seven areas: Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Antigua, Bermuda, Barbados and Laos.

Of the new destinations, Chinese travel agencies are most interested in Brazil, Peru and Mexico. Many plan to launch an initial travel group to these countries priced at around RMB30000. However, because there is no direct line between Beijing and South America, the trips can take as long as 12-15 days.

Statistics from the China National Travel Administration show the total number of travel destinations for Chinese citizens has reached 76, covering six continents around the world.
