Shenzhen Airlines held a ceremony this past weekend for its maiden flight from Nanning to Hong Kong.

Shenzhen Airlines said the purpose for launching this new line was to meet the demand of the cecond China-ASEAN Expo to be held on October 19 in Nanning.

The plane adopted for the line is Boeing 737, and it flies every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

After Nanning became the permanent city to host the exposition, more and more visitors have visited in the past two years. Of the 27253 visitors in 2005, 16078 are from the ASEAN countries.

Shenzhen Airlines will also launch a Nanning-Kuala Lumpur line on October 14, 2005.
