Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has launched its China Sales Mission with the theme Find Your Way to Shangri-La. The sales and promotional event showcases its 20 China properties, including two in Hong Kong SAR, and 12 sister properties across Asia Pacific.
Slated for October 25 to 28 in Shanghai and Beijing, the sales mission is projected to attract a total of 1,000 corporate clients, meeting organisers and travel agents from Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing and Tianjin coming to learn about Shangri-La's latest developments and discuss future business opportunities.
It is a great tribute that 32 Shangri-La and Traders hotels out of the group's 49 properties are Paw, Shangri-La's vice president sales and marketing, China. The world increasingly looks towards China as a leisure and business destination, especially with the approach of 2008 Beijing Olympics. Outbound travel growing tremendously, the country has been Shangri-La's significant market. Our hotels are well placed in the region to cater to the traveller's needs. He added.
As well as introducing the new hotel projects in China, which account for more than half the group's properties currently under development, the sales mission showcases Pudong Shangri-La's newly unveiled 36-storey glass tower, the recently opened Traders Hotel in Kunshan, and American market entry with two recently announced properties in Miami and Chicago scheduled to open in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
The sales mission includes two travel-marts in Shanghai and Beijing. The Shanghai travel- mart at the Pudong Shangri-La on 25 October focused on promoting Shangri-La's properties and business opportunities with the city's travel trade.
The Beijing counterpart opens today at Traders Hotel and will be conducted by leading travel agencies, airlines, event organisers, and hotel's reservations centres. Individual sales appointments with Shangri-La participating hotels will be coordinated by the Shangri-La Regional Sales Office, Beijing.
