Thai Airways International and China Eastern Airlines began reciprocal code-share flights, effective 30 October 2005 onwards.

As part of the code-share agreement, China Eastern Airlines will code-share on THAI's services on the routes:

– Bangkok to Shanghai Pudong
– Shanghai Pudong to Bangkok

The code-share agreement between THAI and China Eastern Airlines signifies the beginning of code-share opportunities whereby the company will be able to expand its network into various areas throughout China, supporting travel and tourism between the two countries. Code-share flights between THAI and China Eastern Airlines will succeed in offering our respective passengers greater travel choices through a more extensive network, said Mr. Vasing Kittikul, Thai Airways International's Executive Vice President for Commercial.

Currently, Thai Airways International serves over 73 destinations worldwide in 34 countries, spanning four continents, including Europe, Russia, the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, Australasia, and the United States.

China Eastern Airlines now serves 67 international, regional itineraries and 274 domestic routes.
