The China Great Wall Protection Institute and the Badaling Great Wall Management Committee have united for the first time to collect public suggestions regarding the renovation of the damaged parts of the Badaling Great Wall, the most popular part of the Great Wall that lies within Beijing.
So far they say they have received more than 220 plans from both home and abroad that offer diversified ways to remove the graffiti from the Great Wall.
Some of these plans suggest that the Great Wall should be positioned with blocks similar to the existing ones. Others propose that the graffiti and fissures be filled with chemicals and covered in cement.
The Great Wall Protection Institute says it will work with the Badaling Great Wall Management Committee to compile these plans and hand a final feasibility report to Beijing municipal authorities at the end of this year.
