The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) says that Hainan Airlines' Lucky Air Company has submitted an application to CAAC to begin operations in China.
Lucky is a subsidiary of Hainan Airlines and was previously transformed from Shilin Airlines in Yunnan Province to help Hainan Airlines explore the aviation market in Yunnan.
CAAC's latest bulletin shows that Lucky Air's stake structure will remain unchanged, with Hainan Airlines, Shanxi Airlines and Shilin Aviation Travel Service Co., Ltd holding 67.95%, 31.38% and 0.67% of the stake, respectively.
However, the registered capital of Lucky Air will be reduced to RMB150 million, and the plane fleet decreased from five planes to three.
Relevant preparation work for Lucky Air has almost been finished, and the airline will be based at Yunnan's Dali Airport.
Hainan Airlines has sent 32 pilots and 27 maintenance staff to work with the new airline.
