Airlines in China have successively increased the commission rate for their ticket agents as an incentive during this year's low season, which is about one month longer than previous years.

Local media report that China United Airlines has increased the commission rate to its agents from the original 8% to as much as 50% for tickets to and from the Beijing market.

Air China, China Southern, China Eastern have also raised their respective commissions to attract more agents.

Smaller airline companies such as Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and Shanghai Airlines also have increased potential revenue for agents.

Hainan Airlines, despite already offering 20% discounts on the Beijing-Guangzhou line, has increased the commission to 19% for its agents for this line.
