News from the National Civil Aviation Conference says that CAAC is next year planning to cancel the limit on air ticket discounts and to make a government guidance price for fuel sales.
At present, airline companies in China are allowed to adjust their ticket price according to a base price set by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and their pricing should not be 25% higher or 45% lower than that base price.
In the future, in order to maintain fair competition, CAAC will lift limits over the minimum price and only manage the maximum pricing.
CCAC has been discussing the reform with concerned parties for more than a year. The new policies will be released in succession after being revised by the participating parties. There is no firm deadline on when this will happen.
