With the 2008 Beijing Olympics approaching, the Beijing Tourism Bureau has launched the Bed and Breakfast Trial Program in Chaoyang District, which will serve as the main venue for the Olympic Games.

So far, 50 residences have been licensed by the government to serve as bed and breakfast (B and B) locations. Most have been opened in Chaoyang District's Airport Street Community and Gaobeidian Community.

The room rate for these B and Bs average RMB150 per night, including food and accommodation. The staff can also speak some English.

According to an incomplete statistics quoted in local papers, up to 100 home B and Bs have opened in the Wangjing area of the city, but not all of them have been approved and licensed by the government.
