Shangri-La's China World Hotel in Beijing has announced the appointment of Jeremy Brook as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Brook will be overseeing all activities and departments of the Sales and Marketing Division, including Sales, Reservations, Events Management, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) and Communications.
Brook has enjoyed a distinguished hospitality career in Europe, the Caribbean and Asia-Pacific for over fifteen years, with an impressive track record in generating sales and marketing results.
His most recent posting was as Area Director of Sales based in Australia for one of the world's leading five-star hotel companies, where he was responsible for driving revenue development for three luxury hotels in Sydney, totaling 1,300 rooms.
Brook also brings extensive experience from Asia, most notably in Indonesia and Thailand, where he has held the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing – Indonesia, with revenue responsibility for ten hotels, and served in the Marketing and Sales Director capacity for a number of luxury resort properties in Bali and Lombok in Indonesia and Phuket in Thailand.
While in Indonesia, Brook was instrumental in driving profitability, optimizing market share and setting up a Jakarta sales office for the properties in his portfolio.
Prior to relocating to Asia, Mr. Brook was Director of Sales Europe for an established Caribbean-based luxury resort group, with responsibilities for 17 five-star resorts and hotels.
