Shanghai-based China Eastern has introduced the Airbus A330-300 plane to China. This is the first time that an airline from the mainland China has used the A330-300.

The A330-300 features a two-level cabin and can hold 300 passengers with 38 business cabin seats.

According to Luo Chaogeng, general manager of China Eastern, the company will use this new plane to replace the current A300-600 plane and put it into use on medium and long distance lines, particularly in Asia.

Luo said that the new plane would help China Eastern accelerate the modernization of its aircrew and better meet passengers' demands.

As the first airline in China that has passed the IS09002 service quality system certification, China Eastern has been targeting the high-end market and improving its hardware facilities.

At present, China Eastern has 200 planes, including 75 A320 planes, 18 A300/310 planes and 10 A340 planes. It is running 450 domestic and international lines.
