Shenzhen has outlined its plan for five-star hotel construction during the 11th Five-Year Period in its Tourism Development Plan.

The plan shows that Shenzhen will build a number of new five-star hotels during the period, of which the first platinum five-star hotel will be completed within this year. And by the end of the five years, there will be eight five-star hotels in the downtown area and at least one five-star hotel in each suburban area of Shenzhen.

The five-star hotels to be open during the 11th Five-year period include Futian Shangri-La and Resorts Hotel, Xinghe Real Estate's hotel project, Qinian Compan's hotel project and Southern International Square Hotel.

In addition, Shenzhen will reconstruct the orginal Shenzhen Wan Hotel and plans to transform it into a new five-star hotel.

At present, there are 11 five-star hotels in Shenzhen.
