The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) says that a regional navigation route newly built by CAAC will be put into operation on April 13 and will serve as a new channel for flights between Europe and Asia.
The line starts from 300km north of Chengdu, and ends at Kuche in Xinjiang Province, connecting Europe with Guangzhou and the Hong Kong area.
New technology such as RNAV, ADS and CPDLC was adopted on the line to improve the safety for flying in the altiplano area and to shorten the flying distance among main cities in Europe and Asia. It also helps airlines to save fuel and improve work efficiency.
CAAC says that several airlines companies have already applied for flying on this new line.
