World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) forecasts that the tourism industry of China will grow by 23% this year.

WTTC says the total value of the Chinese tourism industry will reach US$301 billion in the year, making the country the third largest tourism country in the world next to the U.S and Japan.

WTTC also estimates that China will become the world's second largest tourism and travel power country in the next decade.

Jean-Claude Baumgarten, chairman of WTTC says that generally it renews the tourism report of a country every five to ten years, but the rapid growth of China's travel and tourism industry makes WTTC reevaluate its tourism in three years.

Concerned research result shows that by 2016, the total market value of China's tourism will exceed $1000 billion.

WTTC is a leader of world's travel and tourism enterprises. Right now, it is managing about 100 major travel companies in the world.
