Xiamen Municipal Tourism Bureau says that because of the expansion of high-end hotels, the hotel industry in Xiamen is facing a severe shortage of talented personnel, particularly technical staff and management.
According to the Bureau, there are ten 5-star hotels under construction or to be constructed in Xiamen and there will be 2000 additional rooms at the 5-star hotels this year. This translates to a total of 3000 job vacancies.
Statistics from the Xiamen Job Market shows that in the first quarter of this year, the job demand from the tourism and food industry ranked among the top ten most desired on the job market.
