Experts quoted in local media predict that China will invest approximately RMB300 billion on the construction of forest parks and outdoor travel in the coming years.
At present, Chinese forest parks receive about 300 million tourists each year.
According to the 11th Five-year Plan of State Forestry Administration (SFA), up to 1000 forest parks will be built by 2010, which will attract an estimated 400 million tourists each year.
Kong Ming, a deputy director from SFA, says that forest travel is a high-return sector, and the State will work out a series of policies to support the sector and create a good environment for social investment into the sector.
