The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) plans to talk to IATA, TravelSky Technology Limited and airline companies in China at the beginning of next month to discuss current e-ticket problems in China.
Although the aviation transport e-ticket voucher issued by CAAC on June 1 has become the only valid voucher for passengers to pay for e-tickets and seek reimbursement, airlines have been slow to implement the changes. This lack of quick action has caused a bottleneck within the industry.
Some air ticket agents say that their sales of e-tickets dropped by as much as 50% in three weeks as a result of the new voucher.
Wang Yili, assistant to the general manager of Yoyee.com, also says now that the ticket agents need to post the voucher to the passengers by registered mail, a lot of passengers feel it is not convenient to buy e-tickets.
Hoping to solve this problem, CAAC said that they will make a new operational procedure for e-ticket sales and they will discuss these matters early next month with IATA and the other organizations.
