Dane Cheng is starting his new responsibilities as General Manager Corporate Communication at Cathay Pacific Airways at the beginning of August 2006.

Cheng has until recently been General Manager, Japan, and has held a variety of posts in Hong Kong, Beijing and Taipei since joining the company as a management trainee in 1986.

Cheng was born in Hong Kong in 1963. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in English Language and Literature. He replaces Alan Wong, who has been appointed Senior Vice President, Americas based in San Francisco. Wong was General Manager Corporate Communication for nearly six years before his latest appointment.
