The Landmark Hotel, Shenzhen has completed an extensive RMB100 million renovation program and launched a new professional spa.
"We decided to go the whole way with this renovation. The Chinese tourism authority has introduced a Platinum Five star standard programme, and we aim to achieve this status by fulfilling the required criteria," said George Chiu, General Manager of the independently-owned Landmark Shenzhen.
The renovation started in 2005, and now guests can enjoy personalized butler service on all floors, extra-large bathtubs, 12-inch rain forest showers, over two-metre ‘dream' beds, Egyptian cotton bed linen, 42-inch plasma screen or LCD television, and free broadband access in all rooms. Personal air purifiers, back to basics light switches and laptop sized safe deposit boxes add the finishing touches.
Female guests have a dedicated floor, with feminine amenities provided, while Club floor guests can enjoy a fully equipped wood-panelled Executive Lounge with complimentary snack buffet and drinks.
Meanwhile, the hotel's dining facilities now boast an Italian restaurant, Prego, presided over by Chef Marco Maggio, whose cooking helped to make Hong Kong's Aqua Roma and Tokyo Restaurant famous. Specialising in his own brand of classic yet modern cuisine, he puts his signature twist on the best and freshest seafood and pasta.
