China Southern's Xinjiang Branch says that it will launch a new line to Tehran from August 27.
This new line will be the company's fifth international line and will start in Beijing with a stopover in Urumqi before finishing in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
China Southern is scheduling one flight each Monday and Thursday, and the entire journey will take nine and a half hours.
In order to offer more convenience for Chinese citizens visiting Iran, the Iranian government has also offered special policies to them. If Chinese tourists can guarantee that they will not stay in Iran for more than a week, they can go there directly with their passports and roundtrip tickets without first going to the Iranian Embassy in China for a visa before their departure.
