Marco Polo Shenzhen Appoints Executive Management

Marco Polo ShenzhenMarco Polo Shenzhen, located in the heart of the new Futian Central Business District, has announced its executive appointments for its September opening.

Henk MeyknechtHenk Meyknecht has been appointed General Manager of Marco Polo Shenzhen. Meyknecht joined the Marco Polo group in 2002 as General Manager of Marco Polo Omni Saigon. A hotel veteran, his career spans over a period of twenty years during which he has worked for SAS, Hilton International and the InterContinental Hotel Group in Europe, United States and Asia.

Frank TangFrank Tang has been appointed Financial Controller. Tang is a seasoned finance manager who worked in this field for more than 25 year with Holiday Inn, Gloria International, and Outrigger Hawaii.

Betty XuBetty Xu has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing. Xu worked at the Shangri-La hotels in different cities in Mainland China including Shenzhen, Changchun, Dalian and Harbour Plaza Kunming. She brings 17 years of working experience and will be directing the sales and marketing strategy of the hotel.

Helen MengHelen Meng has been appointed Director of Human Resources. Meng is a veteran in the human resources for over 19 years. She has previously worked with Shangri-La Golden Flower Xian, Marriott Chongqing, Marco Polo Xiamen, Marco Polo Beijing, Crowne Plaza Shenzhen and Howard Johnson Shanghai.

Janet BesmerJanet Besmer has been appointed Executive Housekeeper. Besmar is an operation-oriented manager with 25 years of working experience in the housekeeping department at Oberoi Imperial Singapore, Bali Oberoi Kuta Beach Indonesia, Marco Polo Hong Kong, Regal Meridien Hong Kong and Langham Hong Kong .

Johnson WuJohnson Wu has been appointed Director of Food & Beverage. Wu brings his rich experience in operation of food and beverage over 21 years. He has previously worked with Sara hotel Xian, Shangri-La Golden Flower Xian, Shangri-La Shenzhen and Crowne Plaza Shenzhen.

Billy ZhongBilly Zhong has been appointed Technical Manager. Zhong is a professional technical engineer in the hospitality industry for over 18 years. His previous position was with Holiday Inn Shenzhen.
