Thirteen travel agencies in Shanghai, including Shanghai Travel Service, China-SSS, China International Travel Service and Shanghai Xintiandi Travel Agency, started a "Sunshine Price" action in Shanghai on October 12 to make their prices transparent to tourists.
The "Sunshine Price" action stipulates that signatory travel agencies can not collect entrance fees from tourists for those scenic spots that have already been listed in their contracts, nor can they add scenic spots without tourists' approval. They should also not alter the shopping spots mentioned in the travel contracts.
If any of the travel agencies violate these rules, they must compensate the tourists.
The travel agencies who joined in this action hope to change the current situation in the industry where some travel agencies hook tourists with low fares but without high quality services.
