Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has introduced a new online initiative, "Super Value Dates," and a dedicated web booking engine for meeting planners.

This initiative offers an all-encompassing meeting planning tool, allowing MICE organizers to buy competitive room rates for meetings in the hotels' shoulder and low seasons.

Through the "Super Value Dates" link on the company's website, meeting organizers can now find the best available room rates at any of Shangri-La's 49 properties. organizers who have lead times of up to three months for groups of 10 or more rooms, plus flexible dates and destination preferences, will be rewarded with savings up to 50% on their bookings through "Super Value Dates."

"Super Value Dates" differ at each hotel; for example, at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore meeting organizers enjoy up to 40 per cent discount off the published rack rate from October 20 to 23. While at China World Hotel, Beijing, the discount is more than 50 per cent from November 17 to 24. Terms and conditions apply.

As well, a new dedicated web booking engine, for meeting attendees to book their rooms directly online via a designated group code, eliminates the need for organizers to handle reservations and rooming lists.

"Shangri-La recognises the considerable effort and complexity involved in planning a successful meeting," says Martin F. Waechter, chief marketing officer. "We have simplified and streamlined the event organising process to provide a hassle-free experience for the meeting organizers, at highly competitive rates."
