Accor has named Gilles Larrivé as its new Senior Vice President Ibis Asia based in Shanghai.
Prior to his most recent position, he held numerous senior management positions working in Accor's economy hotel sector. Before coming to Shanghai Larrivé was Managing Director Economy Hotels France covering both the Formule 1 and Etap networks.
This will be his second posting with Accor in Asia having started with Accor Asia Pacific back in 1991 as Hotel Business Development. He later became Executive Project Coordinator in 1993 focusing on Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
In 1995, he returned to France to become Operations Regional Director for Accor Economy Hotels France and in 1997 he was appointed Managing Director of Spain and Portugal responsible for all Accor hotel brands.
In 2003, he took charge of Central and Eastern Europe as Managing Director responsible for all Accor hotel brands in Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Rumania, Russia, Slovakia, and Switzerland.
Larrivé is 39 years old and holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from University of Lyon (France) and received a graduate degree from IAE (Paris).
