Shangri-La's China World Hotel, Beijing has announced the appointment of Melanie Ranoa as Director of Sales – MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions).

In more than twenty years of experience in hospitality, Ranoa's career has encompassed some of the finest luxury five-star hotels in Australia, China and the Philippines. She brings to China World Hotel, Beijing stellar leadership skills combined with a highly developed focus on and impressive track record in International Sales and MICE sales coming from large luxury properties as well as strengths in Rooms Division operations coming from experience in three pre-opening hotels in Beijing and Sydney.

Ranoa has held key role positions in Sydney where she was appointed as Business Development Director for one of the world's largest five-star hotel management companies, overseeing sales for wholesale and international markets for three of Sydney's luxury five-star properties, with a total rooms inventory of more than 2,000 and subsequent as In-charge of national sales for a range of 14 four and five-star hotel products located in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart in Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.

Prior to her return to Beijing, where she had previously worked as part of the pre-opening for one of the city's landmark five-star hotels, Ranoa was the Assistant Director of Sales in charge of MICE for wholesale and international markets for Australia's largest hotel.
