Korean Air has appointed Mu-Chol Shin as Regional General Manager, Passenger and Cargo Sales of the carrier's Hong Kong Regional Office.
The appointment came into effect on January 18, 2007 and Shin will be responsible for the airline's passenger and cargo business in the region.
Shin has developed a reputation of leadership excellence in various departments during his past 22 years of service in Korean Air. He joined Korean Air in 1985 as a Controller in Passenger Reservation division, which is one of the core departments of the company responsible for monitoring global booking situation that reflected the sales condition of flights. Shin was transferred to the International and Domestic Public Relations department in 1989 and his areas of specialization were global corporate and brand positioning and crisis management. Shin also supervised media relations, strategic planning and development that allowed him to create collaborative workspace during his 13 years with the department. Most recently he has been overseeing the Hong Kong passenger sales division since December 2003.
Shin received an MBA from Helsinki School of Economic and Business Administration in 1996.
