Guizhou Province will further open its tourism to the outside and enhance the cooperation with surrounding areas to build a barrier-free tourism zone.

The Guizhou Provincial Development and Reform Commission says that in the coming years, Guizhou province will focus on strengthening the tourism cooperation with the Pearl River Delta Region and the six provinces and regions in Southwest China. It plans to build a no-barrier travel zone with these neighbors and launch a series of travel routes to help create a regional travel brand.

Guizhou Province plans to make use of its unique folk culture, beautiful natural scenery and advantageous climate to launch trans-regional "red" travel routes in cooperation with those surrounding areas including Hunan and Jiangxi. It also wants to develop the Golden Triangle Biology Travel Zone, which is formed by the connection of Guizhou, Chongqing and Sichuan.

There is no word yet on the expected investment needed to jumpstart these initiatives.
