Meritus Hotels & Resorts has welcomed Tommy Lai Chi-On as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for Shanghai JC Mandarin, as well as the Regional Director of Sales for the Global Sales Office in China.

A Hong Kong citizen, Lai concentrated his hotel career in understanding the dynamic markets of Asia for the past 13 years. He spent progressive stints with international hotel chains such as Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, and has established a strong reputation in the sales regime of the international travel trade market with a regional sales role at Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts in Hong Kong before transferring to the group's property in Thailand. Lai joined the Meritus' Regional Sales Office in Hong Kong a decade ago and is now ready to take up new challenges with the group again.

With the new appointments, he will be taking on the chief role of heading the sales team at the Meritus' property in Shanghai whilst driving the group's global sales team efforts in China.
