Chinese flag carrier Air China will open a new non-stop service between its hub in Beijing and the northern Japanese city of Sapporo on April 18.

Sapporo, the main city on the northern island of Hokkaido, will be Air China's seventh destination in Japan. Air China presently offers more than 230 weekly flights between China and Japan, connecting China to the six major Japanese cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sendai, and Hiroshima. The new service (flight CA169/170) will be offered twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

In addition to its own service, Air China code-shares with Japan's All Nippon Airways on routes between the two countries.

"We are pleased to offer this dedicated Beijing – Sapporo non-stop service," said Zhang Lan, Senior Vice President for Air China. "By opening yet another route between China and Japan, Air China continues to expand its excellent network and offer attractive, comfortable travel to passengers in northeast Asia and beyond."
