Shanghai Issues Air Transport E-ticket Service Pact

Representatives from 11 airline companies including China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines and China Southern, have signed an Air Transport E-ticket Service Pact in Shanghai.

The pact is the first of its kind in Shanghai and has been jointly drafted by the Shanghai Municipal Department of Industry and Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Consumers' Interest Protection Commission and each airline company which operates in Shanghai.

In the pact, the airline companies promise that they will advise consumers details related to the purchase and use of e-tickets and set up special service department to handle consumers' complaints of the e-ticket use as well as a hotline for the public to supervise their service.

According to the service pact, airline companies should try their best to help consumers follow the relevant procedures and provide them with necessary services in case of some ticket changes, including but not limited to flight transfers and ticket returns.
